theoretical work developed into the class, as well as to offer
the option to get a wide vision of the Chilean reality.

The Concha y Toro wineyard
At extra cost for students
The tour consist of a wonderful walk around the wineyard
compound while you taste some of the best wines. The tour will
take you through the wonderful gardens of Don Melchor Park, the
Manor House built at the end of the XIX century and the
wineyards where the best Chilean “Cabernet Souvignon” grapes are
produced.

WEEKEND EXCURSIONS
At Extra cost for students
The School offers
4 excursions outside Santiago to be accomplished mainly on
weekends. These ones are guided by members of our staff.
Excursions 1 -
Valparaíso
Guided weekend activity for one day to visit this picturesque
port in the Pacific Ocean. Transportation, meals and ticket for
museum (Neruda’s house) must be paid by students.

Excursions 2 - Pomaire
Guided weekend activity for one day to
visit a town of artisans (claywork) located in the countryside
one hour away from Santiago. Bus tickets and meals to be covered
by each student.

Excursions 3 - Cycling Tour
Guided weekend activity for one day to cycle through some of the
natural
wonders located in and around Santiago (examples: Parque
Metropolitano,
Cajon de Maipo, Rio Clarillo Nature Preserve, Laguna de Aculeo).

Excursión 4 .............. Isla Negra
From Santiago and crossing the Valleys of Curacavi and
Casablanca, we arrive at the Central Coast to visit El Quisco
and its fisherman’s village. From there on to the House of Pablo
Neruda, Literature Nobel Prize winner, in Isla Negra. We will
have lunch at the Port of San Antonio. On our way back to
Santiago we will stop at the village of “Pomaire” and there we
will visit a good number of shops that have tradicional local
handcrafts.

............ Parque Nacional El Morado
From Santiago straight to San José de Maipo. We follow the
valley of the Maipo River until we reach the Cajón del Rio
Arenas. A hike of about 2 hours and a half, intermediate
difficulty that leads to the most accessible glacier of the
central zone of the country. The glacier falls with walls of 15
meters on to the lake of the same name, where you can see blocks
of ice floating over the water. If the climatic conditions allow
it, we go on to the edge of the glacier. 3200 m.s.n.m. Clothing
to shelter from the cold are very important.

............ La Campana
Leaving from Santiago, through the Pan-American North to the La
Campana National Park, Ocoa sector. This is where the Chilean
Palma woods are located, being the largest and one of the few
that are still left in the country. It characterizes itself for
its autonomous vegetation and unique beauty. A 6 km trail, 2
hours of hiking in a slight uphill that reaches a beautiful
cascade, the return is two hours as well.

Pucón, considered to be one of the most important centres of
tourism in the south of Chile, is a small town located at the
foot of the villarrica volcano and possesses an extraordinary
natural beauty that offers a wealth of entertainment and
recreation for whatever your interest may be. With such diverse
and captivating landscapes as rivers, lakes, lagoons, volcanoes,
thermal baths and national parks, Pucón offers every kind of
adventure sport imaginable. The city is located between Volcano
Villarrica and Lake Villarrica 789 kilometers from Santiago,
Chile.
